G2 Laser Optimus looks pretty darn accurate.
Beast Wars characters were about 90% accurate in Kingdom.
Starting with WFC, the point of Generations drifted away from stylized updates to representations that were as faithful as possible to the character model with some modern twists. Many Voyagers were also compromised by inaccurate clear parts on their bodies for their light-up weapons, and more still by god-awful super-bendy rubber plastic (Dreadwind/Skyquake, Soundwave, Ratchet’s weapons, FE Starscream’s missiles, FE Optimus’s sword) Many also are lacking in articulation (waist swivels, ankle pivots, wrist swivels) that are standard on modern Generations figures. Those Prime toys are over a decade old at this point and made with some pretty flimsy and thin materials. Toy engineering has come some ways in a decade. The TF: Prime RID/Beast Hunters line was littered with inaccurate figures (Knock Out, Bumblebee, Airachnid, Smokescreen, Predaking, Dark Steel, Sky Lynx, BH Optimus Prime) Only the First Edition figures (minus the Vehicon) really looked “accurate”, and even then it was only a small group of the core cast.
